This 1993 Mitsubishi 3000GT VR4 is a rare example that is completely unmodified, with all of the original features still working. I bought it in 2019 in generally good condition, but with several issues and some overdue maintenance that I’ve taken care of. I’ve also had to fix many new issues over the years to keep everything fully functional.

Notable Features

The 3000GT VR4 was Mitsubishi’s “flagship” vehicle in the early 90’s. They crammed a lot of technology in this car that was very advanced for the time.

• Twin turbos
• All wheel drive
• 4-wheel steering (rear wheels steer slightly at high speeds)
• Electronically-controlled suspension that automatically adjusts firmness based on driving conditions
• Electronically-controlled exhaust valve that automatically opens for more power (and noise) when accelerating
• Active aerodynamics that automatically deploys at high speeds
  • Front lip extends below the front bumper and reduces aerodynamic lift
  • Rear spoiler tilts up and generates downforce
• Digital automatic climate control (maintains a specified temperature)
• Optional fully integrated car phone
  • Speed dial buttons and microphone on the steering column
  • Radio automatically mutes, and phone audio comes through the passenger side speaker
  • I developed a custom Bluetooth conversion to make the car phone fully functional.
